Kasum Releases Debut 2016 Track with Troye Sivan Remix!

It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard from the creative mind of Kasum, but don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s because he doesn’t have new music. Quite the contrary!

Finally breaking silence, Kasum releases a remix of Troye Sivan’s “Youth,” to be released on Capitol Records. What stood out to me on this one are the flawless and jaw-dropping vocal chops incorporated into the drops. We’ve all heard chops, but this is insane. Check out this stellar upbeat remix that’ll have you bouncing for joy.

Kasum Redefines Avril Lavigne Classic ‘Complicated’

It’s hard not to admire artists that, despite success, continue to push the boundaries of normalcy with innovative projects. Take Kasum for instance, who reinvented a classic 2002 punk rock anthem, all the while realizing he could have just remixed it like his other tracks and for sure gotten a great response. But he wants to accomplish more with his music. Enlisting Megan Hamilton to cover the vocals, Kasum molds a stunning re-imagination of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated,” and even tossed in some backup vocals to ice off the cake! KFT Presents: Summer Soundtrack 2015

Screen Shot 2015-05-31 at 1.05.36 PM

Although summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21st, I’m not really one to follow the rules so we’re gonna cheat a little. Here at KFT we pride ourselves on the ability to make quality playlists regardless of the occasion or genre. Last year’s summer collection was definitely top notch but this one may be the best compilation we’ve ever put together…like EVER. With the rapid rise of tropical and deep house this past year, good vibes have been flowing out of our speakers like the Nile after a rainy day.

This year’s soundtrack features names from some of our favorites such as the Rooftop Boys, Lost Kings, Halogen, Sam Feldt, and Boehm, as well as some newcomers namely Henry Land, Didrick, Atlas, and Crankdat. What more can you ask for this summer besides a full beach of sand, a cooler of Coronas, a giant rubber ducky floaty, and  4+ hours of feel good music. This is how we summer.

Flo Rida ft. Robin Thicke & Verdine White – I Don’t Like It, I Love It (Kasum Remix)

Typically known for reworking anthems that resinate with 90’s kids, Kasum took a much different direction with his latest track. Atlantic Records reached out to the rising NYC-producer about an official remix for Flo Rida’s hit track, “I Don’t Like It, I Love It.” The catchy hook and party-infused beat hold true for almost all Flo Rida’s tracks and this is no exception. Kasum beefs up the original, creating a jam that’ll have you whistling and snapping around all day. We met up with Kasum in the 305 a few weeks back and had one helluva an evening. If Kasum keeps up the current pace, he’ll be the name on the top of flyers at the top venues in every city. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store…hopefully some originals. Kasum’s “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” remix is out June 16th on iTunes so keep racking up plays on his Soundcloud till then.

Blink 182 – Adam’s Song (Kasum Remix)

A very good day indeed. New Kasum = another reason to celebrate our childhood. It’s always “throwback thursday” for Brandon, as he takes us on a trip down memory lane, remixing Blink’s anthemic “Adam’s Song.” Building on a typical combination of melodic dubstep and progressive house, our boy one ups his past productions by sprinkling in a little deep house bridge, circa 2:20-2:50. Absolutely stunning. Click to Download: Blink 182 – Adam’s Song (Kasum Remix)

Synchronice & Kasum – Glorious (feat. Ruby Prophet)

The wait has been excruciating, but we finally have for you the debut original from Kasum, a collaborative project with his good friends and talented duo, Synchronice. They’ve been working on this one since July, ironing out every detail preparing everything from top to bottom for today’s much anticipated release. With the help from vocalist Ruby Prophet, the final product is “Glorious.”

I think one of the best parts about the blogosphere is you get a front row seat in witnessing the progression and evolution of young artists. After comparing this track to Kasum’s earliest works, it’s mind-boggling to see how far he has come in such short time. “Glorious” is somewhat of a combination and alteration of styles previously heard in Kasum’s work, with a touch of melodic brilliance and a handful of insightful contributions from Synchronice. Don’t miss out on the FREE download below, by far the premiere free track of 2015 thus far – and be sure to support the track on Hype Machine as well!
